Non-compliance with commercial EPC legislation may result in a penalty.

Penalties vary and may be charged at upto 12.5% of the rateable value of the offending property, with a minimum of £500 and a maximum of £5,000. This is in addition to the cost of a compulsory and compliant commercial energry performance certificate.
