1. Priced to sell?

    27th September 2011

I passed an estate agent’s board at a property the other day. It had a small sign attached proclaiming “priced to sell”.

I didn’t give it much thought at the time but now it strikes me as quite strange.

Does that mean that all the other houses they have are not priced to sell?

Transmit this to other situations. Do Tesco and Asda  price things to sell or not?

I suppose the stuff in the bin at the end of the aisle that’s just about past it’s sell by date is priced to sell very quickly ( before it goes off ).

There are always shoppers eager to find that one mega bargain, that piece of fillet steak for a quid, rush home and stick it in the freezer.

I suppose it caught my attention but it did’nt prompt me to want to buy it.

Same as the stuff in the supermarket bin.

Normally, you get what you pay for.

  2. Meeting about Leasehold issues. Change of date.

    20th September 2011

The meeting planned for 27th September at the Community Centre in Cramlington Village at 6 p.m.
has been changed to the 27th October, same time.

There has been a lot involved in getting this organised and it has taken longer than we thought.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused but we feel sure that such an important matter will be of great interest to all owners of leasehold properties.
We will explain the financial implications of the various options open to you.

I hope to see you there.

Please phone me if you need any further information on 01670 730073

  3. Boring Street names

    13th September 2011

Why do we have such boring street names in Cramlington? Good question. Probably because we have to have the same letter at the beginning so we know how to get home. As an example.. you live in the double u’s or the g’s you know that the taxi driver can point you in the right direction on the way home from town when you’ve had a couple of beers. so we have Windermere, Whernside, Westerkirk?? Where did that come from? Is there somewhere called that? Gairloch and Glenluce, now it gets confusing because they are at opposite ends of the town! Kirkbride ( after Julie, Deirdrie on Corrie ) and Kelsey ( after Frasier? ) now I’m lost, so is the taxi driver.

In Ashington or Eshingtern, as known locally, they have streets named after footballers i,e Milburn. Allchurch, Brennan etc. We have Percy, Ridley, Hastings and Ridley streets ( local land owners who have milked us over the years ).

So we should ask the Council to give new streets more interesting names. What about Renown Avenue, Instanbul Road, Rasputin Walk, Snickers Street, Theakstons Mews, Abattoir Cut, Howard’s Way. Get on the phone. Stop Boredom.

  4. Selling? Our Plan B could save you hundreds!

    12th September 2011

So… as you look around and check out every agent’s sale fee you notice they’re all more or less the same and choose an agent to hopefully sell your home. You probably begrudge that ‘Sale Fee’ a little though, right? I know I would.

Aside from having been established in Cramlington for over 30 years, our staff having over 100 years combined experience in the industry and all of the mod-cons available to us for selling your home via local newspapers, internet directories, our own website, and social networking profiles did you know that, our sale fee is the lowest available in the area?

    A Market Leading Sale-Fee – 1%

That’s right. At just 1%, our sale fee beats most of our local competition hands-down and in fact most other competition within a 10 mile radius of our office! Just pay us £75  +VAT  for  an Energy Performance Certificate, which is required by law, and that will get you going. If you decide at any point to withdraw your property from the market, there’s usually a withdrawal fee with all agents too (we charge £99 +VAT). As you will see, one of the best deals available in and around Northumberland.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a Plan B though?

Our Plan B features a 0.75% sale fee!

    Introducing: Plan B – with a Sale-Fee of 0.75%

What could a ‘Plan B’ consist of?

Well, at Renown we like to think that we provide a genuine, trustworthy, honest and reliable, realistic service. Backed by senior members of staff who have more experience individually than most of the younger sales people you find in other ‘large chains Agents’ combined. A vast knowledge of the market built up over time. We blend the latest technology with traditional methods of advertising  to your potential buyers. Nice, but this is nothing new right?

Well what if we slashed our market leading sale-fee further… cut it right down, to say 3/4 of a percent? That’s right, a 0.75% Sale-Fee. Sounding good?

How can we make this work? Well in return we ask you to pay an upfront marketing fee of £325 +VAT. We’ll not charge you a withdrawal fee if you change your mind (unlike other agents, and under the traditional ‘Plan A’). Remember that Energy Performance Certificate you needed? We’ll scrap that fee too. A simple £325 +VAT and you’re good to go.

So, just look at the sums you could be saving when we sell your home or property; based on a gross selling fee of 1% +VAT at the current rate, or in other words, against what Plan A would cost you….

    Sell at:

    £150,000              and save   £450
    £200,000                              £600
    £250,000                              £750

You literally could SAVE HUNDREDS with our new Plan B.

    5th September 2011

I’m trying to think of another business where someone asks you to find them a buyer, you find them a buyer, then they decide they don’t want to sell after all.
    Nope. Only Estate Agency.
